1. His face just naturally defaults to a shit-eating grin

There ain't much more to this, except he's not actually aware he's doing it. It's kinda just a facial tick. In addition, he does that thing where you laugh at things that aren't meant to be funny at all. A nervous laugh, if you will

2. He hasn't got a firm grip on his emotions

Maddox has spent such a long time trying to quash that natural kitter thing called 'expressing your feelings' that when they do get past his Fun Suppression Barrier Within Himself, they're often very strong and uncontrollable. Doesn't really matter what feeling it is- could be uproarious laughter, or bawling his eyes out, or violent rage. He tries to be positive, at least.

3. He's kind of a drifter

In Maddox's opinion, living in one place is "a snooze-fest", and thus refuses to live in Willow's Orphanage. On top of that, he's always moving his home, packing up his few earthly possessions at least once a month and finding a new hole to bury into. (Muddies now live in tree-tops instead of in the mud, but he's old-school). He does this both to keep things interesting but also to keep Willow from finding him and taking him in. At least he stays within the outskirts of Murkwood, usually. On a vaguely similar note, he doesn't actually care that much that he's an orphan or that he's often alone. He's too busy trying to hone his kick flips to be upset by it.

4. Maddox can't 'half-ass' anything

Whether it be his passions or activities, Maddox can't help but throw himself into everything he does, with no remorse. Sure, he can still be lazy, but he can't just 'be lazy' in a normal way, like just forgetting to do something (though he still forgets things chronically). Oh, no. He has to go to the extreme of laziness. He has to sleep through events entirely, or act overdramatic when confronted with the threatening ordeal of Responsibility.

5. He's got quite the collection of interests

Most of them at least have a common theme: Extreme-ness. From skateboarding to parkour to chemical reactions and explosions, he's drawn to chaotic things that have the potential to get you hurt. Living 'on the edge' is certainly entertaining, at least. That's not all he takes fancy to, however! He's got some more niche interests, such as comic books, clothing, and, funnily enough, mosses and trees. Of course, the comic books all have "kickass dudebros as the protags" (his words), the clothes are all covered in flame and skull decals and are made of leather, and ...well, he's gonna grow the most RaDiCaL bonzai garden, obviously!

6. Maddox hurts himself. A lot.

Not intentionally, of course. (Unless its a can-crushing contest) It's not that he's exactly 'prone to accidents' either, but it's simply because the sheer amount of dangerous things he does on a daily basis puts him in harm's way frequently. He's broken both arms at least once each, has broken his wrist, broke his nose, sprained a wing somehow even though he can't fly with them yet, tore a muscle in his tail (which ended up preventing him from slithering for a week), lost all his baby teeth already, and has suffered several concussions. I haven't posted any of these situations yet, though I have had a comic in the works for him breaking his arm the one time. Somehow nothing has become permanent yet, though his wrist always makes a loud crack when moved and sometimes there's a strong and painful pressure behind his left eye. It's probably fine.

7. He's adverse to book-learning

It's part of why he left the orphanage, in fact. It also impacted his opinions of 'being quiet' or 'sitting still', because the three were often combined. He just doesn't get it, in addition to him simply not retaining the spoken word. He's much more of kinesthetic learner; learns through physical memories.

..Don't get it twisted though. He's still very much a stupid kid, but how he learns isn't Why, if you catch my drift. All the concussions is why.

8. He likes to have a tidy space

Despite his rough-and-tumble and 'careless in a cool way' personality, Maddox needs to keep his home very tidy, or else he can't focus at all. If something isn't in it's place, it must not exist, and thus he will forget about it. He also tries to keep clean, but often fails. When you live in a hole in the ground and do physically-demanding stunts daily, its hard to not be sweaty and caked in dirt all the time.

1. Her given name is not Klonopin This is probably obvious cos no sane person would name their kid after a seizure medication. that'd be Wack. Her actual name is Charlotte, which only Fern knows

3. Klonopin doesn't really trust anyone Even though she's putting a lot of faith in those who work under her to do their part, due to the nature of her position in the gang, she doesn't divulge important information to anyone, even those who are closest to her. she's constructing a back-up plan to maintain power just in case something goes awry within her gang

4. Despite the point above, she cares strongly for any sort of facsimile of family. I mean,,, she cares about it, yes, but doesn't exactly have a healthy view of families. Wouldn't you be kinda messed-up about familial relationships if you lived with the parents that abandoned you, after knowing them for a long time?

5. For a gang leader, Klonopin is pretty lazy. It's why the idea of a gang itself appealed to her- people doing stuff for you either for a small cut of the profit they collected for you, or doing it under the threat of physical harm. She may be lazy but she'll definitely keep people in line

6. She can't stand classical music. Reminds her of older times, of a period of stagnancy and embarrassment. She'll go out of her way to beat up any source of classical music that she hears, whether it be a radio or a person. this also applies to lacy clothing, or floral print.

7. Violence isn't actually her go-to. At least not for now,,,,, She prefers to either blackmail first, to get something from the meep she's threatening, like useful items or weapons or beads or physical labor. Granted she might just beat them up afterwards anyway, for fun- to show them who is BOSS

8. Has zero patience. She WANTS to be that boss who'll be like, -"in due time we will see results of my master plan, have a little faith" and turn around in her spinny chair and tap her fingers together and chuckle darkly while the confused lacky cocks their head in the bg but that doesn't really happen. she's still a kid after all! she wants what she wants and she wants it NOW!!!

Mokka actually might have the most plot and depth actually planned for her, but a lot of it is Secret so i've got a lot of tiptoeing to do for these facts

SOME OF THIS STUFF U MIGHT KNOW ALREADY IF U'VE RPED W/ HER OKAY OKAY ENOUGH BEFOREHAND STUFF

1. Mokka has a very... vague inspiration. Okay so this won't make much sense- But one day maybe a couple years ago i was looking up pics of Kirins and I found a rEALLY COOL PIC of what honestly looked more like a dragon than a Kirin BUT it had, like, an orb in it's claws and tall spiraling horns and a long noodly body and im like DAMN i LOVE THAT. I haven't been able to find the exact pic again but i have a version of it in my mind's eye. i think it had feathers and fur combined in a fun way which i TRIEd to replicate but the way i draw flighty feathers needs workshopping... ANYWAY- im kinda planning for her aesthetic to morph into something similar to her mom- a fortune-teller sorta vibe, but hopefully more wholesome

2. She's had a few personality changes. Like, she used to be mostly deadpan until she was feeling a Strong Emotion and then would pull a very exaggerated expression. I thought that was pretty lame for her and just Didn't make sense contextually, so i took that trait and kinda 'gave' it to [REDACTED], which i dont think i ever conveyed to anyone outside of my own head,,, soOooo-!

3. Mokka isn't emotionless! Who would've guessed! She does feel but doesn't exactly express it in any sort of, yknow, 'normal' or neurotypical way. She's got a very extreme version of Flat Affect, which tends to appear in individuals on the autism spectrum. it's basically just when your voice tends to be consistently monotonous, though it can also impact facial reactions and such (just so happens to for Mokka). i wouldn't exactly say she's on the spectrum, like, maybe a little, but there are other reasons she has developed Flat Affect. Reasons that are hush hush. When feeling stronger emotions the vents under her eyes will begin to release smoke, which is a big tell that she is Upset and whatever is happening that is making her feel that way should Stop

4. Writing her plot has given me the most strife out of any of my kitters. Well, maybe strife isn't the best word, but to pull back the curtain a bit i tend to ask things that i am unsure of in regards to KK in a place that only other staff are in, and i believe most of my most vital questions have related to Mokka, both in regards to what sort of themes i can touch on in a story for a General Audience Group, as well as NPC amount and design choices. As well, part of her story delves deep into themes and situations that i haven't personally experienced (exactly), and has made me do a boatload of research so i don't portray it poorly and end up offending individuals who have lived it. Ive got a few artpieces done for her starting plot that i haven't uploaded yet due to revamping and revamping and revamping the story over and over and ov ER-

5. She's visually impaired. I was kinda waiting for someone to sleuth it out by reading rps and asks, which,,,, i dont think ever really happened, RIP- but yeah, due to the vents under her eyes spewing smoke up into them, she cant see so good. Everyone around her at least ACTS unaware about this, and i don't think anyone's brought it up to her directly (if they did i forgot), so she hasn't got a clue how bad it is. She really ought to get glasses, but in this economy?? unlikely

6. Mokka is pretty tech-savvy, by kitter standards. It's not like she could deconstruct technology and rebuild it or anything (like Billy for example), but she understands how they work. Due to her family's (fading) wealth, she knows luxuries such as a TV, radios, ovens, microwaves, toasters, indoor plumbing, and, get this, mini-fridges. They're all kind of beat-down and are beginning to fail, though. They simply don't got the funds to upkeep 'em. The only thing she technically owns out of all of these is one radio, given to her primarily to keep in touch with family when out of the house. She tends to just tune it to a music station though, ignoring her family. speaking of which-

7. She's kinda got a rebellious streak. For reasons yet to be delved into, Mokka definitely enjoys her alone time, and goes out of her way to get some. Disobeying curfew and heading off without letting anyone know is generally how she goes about doing it. What does she do with this alone time, exactly? Well, she'll 'borrow' some writing supplies from either the trash or the meepery, and plot out elaborate (pointless) plans or equations on the ground, in chalk, just for the heck of it. It's one of the ways she tries to entertain herself, along with predicting plot-turns in books, practicing her cursive, and, yknow, very minor theft. Once, she enlisted the help of some random passerby meep to climb through a rooftop vent to get into Filch's Pawn Shop, and they stole a spoon that was put in the 'magical curios' section. She only got in mild trouble for that, thankfully. ..they never found out what the spoon did

8. Mokka is magically adept. Not magically skilled, mind you. She's been trying her best to control the inexplicable magic outburst she's had, with mixed results. Her knotted whiskers certainly don't help with precise magic control, but Mokka's really got her mind set on becoming a Mage with her affinity for smoke. Her interest came from taking out many books from the library to read. The books she read tended to stick in the realm of fiction, until she came upon the "magic learning" section. She read up about a later ability for her element that would really "help her get her alone time", let's say. Since then she's kinda been obsessed. Well, obsessed in a quiet, composed way.
